protective and harmonious actions which are in tune with God's systematised order, only
then can such actions constitute genuine worship of God. On the contrary, when Man

performs actions which are ruinous, harmful and destructive, causing obstruction to this
systematised order, then such actions constitute defiance of God. Similarly, to cooperate

with this systematised order of God and be helpful to it constitute good actions, while to
create obstacles to this order or to live life in opposition to it constitute bad actions. In

brief, a valuable doctrine of JEEVANVIDYA in this context states,
"Live happily yourself and help others to live a happy life, is the essence of true

worship of God; on the contrary performing evil and sinful actions which make your life
and the life of others unhappy, constitute defiance of God.''

In other words, Man should make maximum efforts to bring about the welfare,
well being and happiness of others and under no circumstances should he be responsible

for creating miseries and sufferings to the members of the society in which he lives. The
fundamental truth in this context is that, all human beings, regardless of whichever

religion, caste, creed, sect or race they belong to, are basically the living idols of God
created by God Himself and as such it is the first and foremost duty of every person in

the world to treat all human beings with honour and dignity, respect and regard. The sole
aim of JEEVANVIDYA is to achieve the goal of happiness for the entire human race.

However, the prevailing conditions of the common man show that he is suffering from a
lot of injustice and is entangled in various types of rites and rituals. Today, the condition

of the common man is indeed pitiable because he has to make lot of effors, to earn his
livelihood, as also to meet other necessities of life, for which most of his time is spent. In

addition, he is guided to perform various types of rites and rituals, such as fasting,
undertaking pilgrimage, recitation of scriptures (without understanding their meaning),

conducting sacrificial practices with the false expectation that these rituals would gratify
God, so that the condition of his wordly life will improve. However the performance of

such rites and rituals further deteriorates Man's basically feeble physical, mental and
financial condition. Besides, spending money and time in performing such rigorous rites

and rituals, the outcome is generally fruitless. In very rare cases where the result seems
to be fruitful, it is sheer coincidence, because the outcome has actually no relation

whatsoever to the rituals performed. In this context, Dr. Murphy says,
"All your experiences conditions, events and acts are reactions of your

subconscious mind to your thoughts. Always remember, it is not the thing believed in,
but the belief in your own mind that brings about the results. Cease beliving in false
