ABSTRACT
Pterygium is a growth condition of fibrovascular tissue that is usually triangular in shape with the head or apex facing
the center of the cornea and the base facing the semilunar folds of the canthus. Fibrovascular tissue infiltrating the
bulbar conjunctiva, on the corneal surface, is degenerative and invasive, usually bilaterally on the nasal side. This
study is a case report of Pterygium occurring in a BSH cat (British Short Hair) which is then followed by surgery. A
BSH Cat (British Short Hair) named Igor reported in the right eye covered with fibrovascular tissue. The results of
physical examination showed the presence of white tissue that grew from the limbus conjunctiva to cover all parts
of the cornea and the nictitating membrane was attracted to part of the cornea. The results of blood tests showed
a decrease in HGB, MCHC, MCH, MCV, RDWSD and PDW. Next, a surgical procedure is performed to remove the
tissue covering the cornea with the bare sclera technique. After surgery, cendo cenfresh® eye drop therapy was
given to treat dryness of the eyes and oral medication in the form of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and vitamins for
5 days.
