indications are gynecological (tense painful breasts, IUD-related
bleeding).

Effects of vitamin P:

• On venous tone: It indirectly inhibits the breakdown of norepinephrine
   (noradrenaline) by COMT (catechol-O-methyltransferase).
Noradrenergic activity is thereby prolonged and venous tone
   increased.

• Effect on lymphatic drainage: It decreases in the diameter of lymphatic
   vessels and intralymphatic pressure.

• On the microcirculation: It protects microvascular permeability leading
   to raised microcirculatory venous pressure.

                                Ginkgo Biloba

This is commonly known as ginkgo. It contains flavonol glycosides
(quercetin and kaempferol derivatives), flavan-3-ol and
proanthocyanidins.

Uses:

• Treatment of cerebral insufficiency (vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss and
   lack of concentration).

• Treatment of intermittent claudication (pain caused by too little blood
flow, usually during exercise and generally affects the blood vessels
   in the legs)

• Treatment of Raynaud’s disease (reduced blood flow due to spasm of
the arteries usually in fingers and toes).

                               Isoflavonoids

Isoflavones are a distinct form of flavonoids having the nucleus of
3-phenylchromone. Isoflavones are the major flavonoids found in
legumes, particularly soybeans. In soybeans, isoflavones are
present as gylcosides.
Digestion or fermentation of soybeans or soy products results in
the release of the free isoflavone aglycone. Soy isoflavone
