Flavoxate

       Uses:
           • Flavoxate is selective urino-genital antispasmodic. It works
by relaxing the smooth muscles in the bladder.
           • Used in treatment of urinary incontinence (urinary leakage)
               and urinary frequency.

                        Anthracene glycosides
                     Anthraquinone glycosides

These glycosides are anthracene derivatives most of them contain
anthraquinone skeleton such as cascara, frangula, aloe, rhubarb and
senna.
These drugs are used as cathartics or laxatives. The glycosides, upon
hydrolysis, yield aglycones that are di-, tri-, or tetrahydroxy
anthraquinones or modifications of these compounds.

Derivatives of anthraquinones
Oxanthrones are reduced derivatives of anthraquinones, anthrones

represent a more reduced group and anthranols are tautomeric forms
of anthrones. Dianthrones are dimeric form of 2anthrones or 2
    anthranols.
• Oxanthrones
Products obtained from anthraquinones present in cascara bark.
    Oxidation of oxanthrones produce anthraquinones.
• Anthranols and Anthrones
They are reduced anthraquinone derivatives occur as free aglycones or
combined glycosides present in aloes and rhubarb. They are
