                    12)  on  or  before  the  first  day  of  employment,  the  employee  shall  report
                         to  the  Personnel  Division  for  a  brief  in-processing  orientation  and
                         the  completion  of  required  forms.  The  Personnel  Office  will  schedule
                         an  employee  orientation  date  within  the  first  two  weeks  of  employ-
                         ment.
                    SECTION  ~ .  Temporary  Appointments  to  Regular  Positions  by  Outside
                                 Applicants
                     l)  Reqular  positions  which  are  temporarily  vacated  may  be  filled  by
                        outside  applicant  on  an  temporary  basis  for  a  period  not  to  exceed
                        twelve  months.  Persons  appointed  on  a  temporary  basis  shall  be  .
                        certified by  the  Personnel  Off ioe  as  having  met  the  minimum  training
                         and  experience  qualifications  for  the  class  in  which  he/she  will  be
                         employed  and  such  appointments  will  be  subject  to  the  approval  of  the
                        Depart.ment·Head  and  the  Personnel  Administrator.
                     2)  Temporary  employee  candidates  may  be  selected by  any  of  the  following
                        methods:
                        a)   Posting  and/or  advertising by  the  Personnel  Office;

                        b)   From  a  list of  eligibles maintained  by  the  Personnel  Office
                             (s uch  lists  shall  include  former  employees  who  resign  in good
                             standing);
                        c)   From  an  approved  employment  agency  or  temporary  placement
                             se:rvice,
                     ~)  Employees  appointed  to  regular positions  on  an  interim  basis  shall
                        receive  no  City  benefits  except  those  required  by  law.

                    SECTION  ~ .   Conversion  from  Temporary  to  Regular  status
                    If a  temporary  position  is  converted  to  a  regular  status  or  if a  regular
                    position  becomes  vacant,  a  temporary  employee  within  the  classification
                    in  the  same  division  may  only  be  appointed  to  the  regular  position
                    through  an  internal  job  announcement,  as  described  in  Section  3  above.
                    In  the  event  any  medical  examination  is  required  for  the  regular
                    position,  the  conversion  from  Temporary  to  Regular  Status  must  also
                    comply  with  Section  3 1  subparagr~ph 9  of  this  Administrative  Regulation.
                    Convers ion  from  temporary  to  regular  status  shall  be  treated  as  a  change
                    in  stat us  and  shall  be  made  effective  with  the  beginning  of  the  pay
                    period  following  approval.  Any  time  worked  as  a  temporary  employee  shall
                    not  he  counted  as  time  worked  in  satisfying  any  probationary  requirement
                    as  set  forth  in  Section  25A-5-6  of the  City  of  Farmington  Personnel
                    Rules.
