                                            AN ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATION
                                        ESTABLISHING EMPLOYEE WORK PERIODS

Resolution No. 2007-1256, adopted on October 2, 2007, authorized the City Manager to
establish work periods for employees with the flexibility to adjust different work weeks or
periods for different work groups as necessary.

This Administrative Regulation establishes work periods for city employees.

Section 1. With the exception of Fire, Police and electric utility shift employees, all
hourly employees' compensation throughout the City is based on a forty hour work week which
begins at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday morning and ends at 12:00 midnight on Saturday night.

The City reaffirms its designation of the Fire Department shift worker work period of
fourteen (14) days. The fourteen day work period has been designated pursuant to 29 U.S.C.
Sec. 207 (k) and its interpretative regulations, as the law may apply to the City of Farmington.
Shift workers in the Fire Department are Firefighters, Engineers, Lieutenants, Captains and
Battalion Chiefs. The maximum number of hours per fourteen day work period which can be
worked by non-exempt employees without incurring overtime liability under the Act is 106
                   hours.

The City reaffirms its designation of a seven day work period for all certified police
officers, corporals, and sergeants in the Farmington Police Department. The seven day work
period allows for the payment of overtime after forty-three hours per wee~ pursuant to 29
U.S.C. 207 (k) and the associated regulations, as the law may apply to the City of Farmington.
However, it will be the practice of the City to pay overtime to certified police officers and
sergeants when their hours worked exceed their regularly weekly shift.

For all electric utility shift employees, the City designates a forty hour work week during
a seven day period beginning and ending on the days and at the times as set by the Electric
                   Utility Director.
