Some are in the mode of going one step further and take
the evolved concepts to a manufacturable reality, that
encompasses processes to reduce cost, control quality,
and improve rate. Others get married to certain tools like
electron microscopes, robotic systems, ultrasonic
scanners, electromagnetic measurement devices and the
like.
Generally, in my experience, I found that the folk I
worked with usually focused their intelligence on one of
these capabilities, and had great difficulty in trying to
encompass the whole spread. So where did I derive my
sense of what “turned me on” day after day, month after
month, year after year, and decade after decade?
In looking back through this written collection, I think I
can parse this into a few major categories as it applies to
my professional life.
