But there should be more to it than just a litany of short

stories and personal high points. Are there some threads
or lines of continuity that are trackable through this
moray of happenings in my career?

What was it that made my professional life such an
experience to relish and consume over 200 pages of

events?

What was it that allowed me to state that “boring” never,

ever encroached on my engineering career?

Can I take a look from orbit and see an overarching
pattern?

Well, some thoughts do emerge that focus on just a few

threads I can pull on.

Engineers, in any discipline, have differing attributes and
capabilities. Some are creators and inventors with
unbridled thinking processes that take us well beyond

comfort zones, but have not developed the discipline to
turn creations into realities. Others try to do just that —
evolve “far- out” creative concepts into reality, a

completely different kind of challenge.
