when I wasn't continually flying. Jennifer wasn't as fond of it, and I had to
hold her hand to calm her nerves at times. Grandpa would take us in his

tiny plane, and he would buzz Jennifer's house, going up and down around

it. We actually called her parents so they could look out the window and
wave at us. I think Jennifer eventually grew to love it.

Since we had synchronized swimming meets all over the United States
Jennifer, and I would travel together sharing hotel rooms and beds and

staying up talking way past our bedtime. We told each other everything as
best friends are known to do. We loved to write little notes back and forth

to each other even though we were in the same room. I suppose it isn't

much different than the way kids today text each other when they are
sitting right across from one another.

Jennifer and I swam together for 10 years, and then we parted, each going

our own way, but never losing that closeness of shared hotel rooms and
               shared secrets.

Can you share stories of any other childhood friends and boyfriends to add

               to this section?

I stopped synchronized swimming when I graduated high school and went

off to college. Few schools offered it as a sport, and the ones that did were
not my chosen ones, so I took off to attend San Diego State University.

Even though synchronized swimming was no longer my life, I still loved to

swim and managed to continue swimming every day while attending UCSD.
