Page 12 - Come Fly with me-In progress
P. 12
Family photos of your Noni and grandpa, mom and dad, you and your
brothers are needed here.
When we were small, we often went up with Grandpa when he was
teaching, just so we would get to spend more time with him. Nowadays,
with much stricter aviation guidelines, that would be strongly prohibited,
but I can remember all of us kids dancing in the plane behind the student
and having a grand time, while he was busy giving lessons. When we got
older, we even managed to ride motorcycles down the runway. Those type
of activities could never happen today, but we were kids, and the airport
was our playground.
I loved flying, but it wasn't my passion, I had a greater passion, I was a
synchronized swimmer. My dream was to be in the Olympics, but it never
happened mainly because at the time it was not an Olympic Event. Later
on, it was adopted by the Olympics, but that ship had sailed, and I was no
longer competitively swimming at that point.
Any Photos available of you synchronized swimming in competitions etc.
They would be good to place here
Synchronized swimming was not only my favorite thing to do, but it was
where I met my dear friend Jennifer Bullard. We didn't attend the same
elementary school, but we met in the swimming pool. I was nine, and
Jennifer was 10. When our swim instructor started pairing us up, I was
matched with Jennifer because we were about the same size and were both
blondes. It and was indeed a match made in heaven. We quickly bonded
and became fast friends. Once the partnership was forged, we were
inseparable at every practice we just became like Ying and Yang. We even
called each other cousins, and everyone believed we were.
