Museum of
Petroliana
By William nieman
For semanticists, Petroliana is a com- bination or melding of two words, pe- troleum, and Americana. Its interest for most of us has to do with what the word represents. In this regard, Petroliana is a collection of memorabilia and artifacts that tell the story of America’s greatest industry. They represent the delivery of a refined fossil fuel (via gas pumps) that, over many decades, changed the face of American society.

Citizen of
the Year
By Donna RhoDes
PLYMOUTH—On the 97th Anniversary of the Plymouth Ro- tary Club, members gathered at the Barn on the Pemi to celebrate new leadership with their Chang- ing of the Guard and announce this year’s recipient of their Citi- zen of the Year award.
The award began in 1978, and each year since, it has been a tradition to select a local resident, not a member of Rotary, who has shown “extraordinary efforts to enhance life in the Plymouth area,” motivated by the “spirit of goodness, kindness, and care for other beings and the community.” Recent past recipients have been Elena Worral (2023), Martha Richards (2022), and Tim Keefe (2021).
