NO    Locate and repair open  on BK wire between  back of tachometer and   BK wire at [38C].  NO  Locate and repair open  on PK wire between PK  wire terminal on back of  tachometer and terminal   3 on connector [39B].



                          Continued from (Part 1of 2) Check for continuity to ground on BK terminal on  back of tachometer. Wiggle harness during conti- nuity check. Is continuity present?  NO  Install Speedometer Breakout Box.  Check for continuity between PK  wire on back of tachometer and ter- minal 3 on Breakout Box. Is continu-  ity present?












                                          YES  Check for voltage at PK   terminal on back of  tachometer while engine  is running. Voltage will   vary with RPM.   Is voltage  continuously present?  2  YES  Refer to Softail Electrical  Diagnostic Manual to  check for Serial data at   terminal 5 of ECM.
