I met my good friend, Otto Holmes, in June at

a big revival church meeting. We went together
the rest of the summer and on through until my
school was out, the last of March. We only went
somewhere once or twice during the week and al-
ways to church on Sunday evenings. He had given
me a diamond in November 1916. We were
married by a probate judge at Dighton, Kansas,
April 12, 1917.
