What a difference between the two! Life-giving
people make you feel better about yourself, but
they also make you feel better about the world
and everyone in it. They seem to lift everything
and leave you with hope. You always feel better
leaving the company of a life-giving person.
Life draining people, on the other hand, tend to
talk about themselves, and they see the world
from their perspective. You always feel worse
when leaving the company of life draining
people!
Most of us are not aware of our real
motivations. A wealthy person can work hard,
make money and declare that she is doing it for
the family. But the family never sees her, and
when they do she seems angry. They feel like
they can’t live up to her high expectations. They
feel like a disappointment to her. Is she really
doing it for the family? Is it possible there are
hidden motives? She loves the attention and the
respect. Maybe she enjoys not having to look
after her own children.
On the other side of the coin, a person could
be without a job, and because of a lack of
finances, he or she might be forced to live on
