branch which will be thrown into the fire to be burned. If you continue with me,
and my word abides with you, whatever you ask shall be done for you. In this the
Father will be proclaimed. Lay up for yourself wealth in heaven which cannot
wear out, where rust and moth cannot ruin nor thieves come near and remove.
Blessed are you the peacemakers, you shall be known as son of God.
Parable of the Householder
He then spoke this parable; the kingdom of God is like a man who is a
householder who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
He bargained with the laborers for a penny a day and sent them to his vineyard.
He went out at the third hour and saw others standing idle in the market place.
He said to them you also go to the vineyard and I will give you what is right. They
went. He went out again at the sixth and at the ninth hour and did the same.
Toward the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle. He said to
them why do you stand all day idle? They said to him because no man has hired
us. He said to them you also go to the vineyard. You will receive what is right.
When evening came the owner of the vineyard said to his steward call the
laborers pay them their wages. Begin from the last ones to the first. When those
of the eleventh hour came, they received a penny. When the first ones came,
they expected to receive more. They also got each one a penny. When they
received, it they murmured against the householder saying these last ones have
worked only one hour and you have made them equal with us who have borne
the weight of the day and its heat. He answered saying to them my friend I am
not doing you an injustice. Did you not bargain with me for a penny? Take what
is yours and go away. I wish to give to this last one the same as to you. Have I
no right to do what I wish with mine own? Or are you jealous because I am
generous? The last shall be first and the first last; when he had finished these
words in the hearing of his followers He departs from Cana and they came to the
Port at Tiberius. Jesus said let us return to Capernaum. Jesus and his followers
entered boats at Tiberius.
Andrew and Peters House
It came to pass Jesus had entered the house of Peter, his brother Andrew,
James and his brother John gathered around him as he reclined and many other
followers also gathered around him. Now the followers had been sent to gather
certain Pharisee and teachers of the Law to come and see and hear the words of
Jesus. While Jesus was teaching, they came and sat down. They came from
every town of Galilee, Judea and the city of Jerusalem. The word of God was
present to heal them. A great many gathered together so that it was impossible
to hold them not even the front entrance so they began to gather outside.
