John the Baptist
After these issues, Jesus and his followers infiltrated the land of Judea and he
remained there with his followers and they baptized. John also was baptizing at
the spring of Aenon near to Shalim because there was much water there; they
came and were baptized. John was not yet arrested by Herod. Now it happened
that a difference of opinion arose between some of John’s disciples and the
Jewish Elders about the ceremony of purifying. His disciples came to John and
told him he who was with you at the Marriage Feast in Cana at the Jordan
crossing. Who you bear witness saying I baptize with water but the one to come
will baptize with the Holy Spirit. He also is baptizing. A great many are coming to
him. John answered them no man can receive anything of his own will except it is
given to him from heaven. You yourselves have heard me say, I am not the
Christ but only a messenger to go before him. He who has a bride is the
bridegroom and the best man of the bridegroom is he who sojourns and takes
heed to him. I have celebrated greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. My
satisfaction is realized. He must become eminent and I to a lesser extent. He
who has descended from above is above all. He who is of the earth is of the
earth and he speaks of earthly things. He who has come from heaven is above
all and He attests to what he has seen and heard. No unreal man receives his
recommendations. He who has received his recommendations has set his seal
that God is true. He who God has directed is the word of God. God did not limit
his Spirit by a measuring stick. He gave of himself freely to cloth his Son. When
Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard he made many followers and was
baptizing more people than John. Jesus himself did not baptize but his followers.
Jesus and apostles left Judea and came again to Galilee.
Jacobs Well
He had to go through Samaritan territory. Then he came to a Samaritan city
called Sychar near the field which Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Now
Jacob’s well was there. Jesus was tired by the fatigue of the journey and sat
down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. There came a woman from
Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her give me water to ingest. His followers
had entered into the city to buy nourishment. The Samaritan woman said to him
how is it you are a Jew and yet you ask me for water to ingest who is a
Samaritan woman? Jesus said if you only knew the salvation of God and who is
the man who said to you give me water to ingest. You would have asked him and
he would have given you enduring water. The woman said to him my Lord you
have no pail nor a well to draw water from. Where does this enduring water come
