from? Are you greater than our father Jacob who gave us this well and he himself
drank from it also his sons and his sheep?
Jesus answered everyone who ingests the water from that well will thirst again.
Whoever ingests of the water which I give him shall never thirst. The same water
which I give him shall become within him a well of water springing up to life
everlasting. The woman said to him my Lord give me of this water that I may not
thirst again and need not come and draw from this well again. Jesus said to her
go bring your husband here. She said to him I have no husband. Jesus said to
her you said that which is right, I have no husband. You have had five husbands.
The one you now have is not your husband what you said is true. Then the
woman said to him my Lord I see that you are a prophet. Our forefathers
worshipped on this mountain and you say the place where men must worship is
in Jerusalem. Jesus said to her woman believe me. The time is coming when
neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will they worship the Father. You
worship what you do not know. I revere him who I do know. The time has come
and it is here when those who are righteous shall revere the Father in spirit and
in truth. The Father also desires believers such as these. God is Spirit. Those
who revere him must revere him in spirit and in truth. The woman said to him I
know that the Christ is coming. When he comes, he will teach us all righteous
issues.
Jesus said to her I am he who is speaking to you. While he was talking, his
followers came and were surprised that he was talking with a married woman.
The woman then left her water jar and went to the city and said to the men come
see a man who told me all affairs which I have done. He is the Christ. The men
went out of the city and came to him. During the interval, his followers asked him
Teacher eat. He said to them I have spiritual nourishment to eat of which you do
not know of. The followers among themselves said did any man bring him
something to eat? Jesus said to them my nourishment is to do the will of him who
sent me and to complete his work. A great many Samaritans of that city came to
him and listed to him teach and believed. They implored him to stay with them.
He and his followers stayed with them two days. Those who believed said to the
woman it is not because of your word that we believe in him. We ourselves have
heard and know that this is indeed the Christ the Savior of the world. Two days
later Jesus departed from Samaria and entered Galilee.
Servant of a Centurion Healed
When he came to Galilee the Galileans welcomed him. They had seen all the
wonders he did at Jerusalem during the feast. They also had come to the feast.
Then Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where he had made the water wine.
There was at Capernaum a servant of a Centurion whose servant was sick. This
man heard that Jesus had come from Judea through Samaritan territory and had
