P. 87
He departed from the Mount of Olives and entered Jerusalem to teach in the city.
When he came to the Synagogue and saw those who were buying oxen, sheep,
doves and the money changers sitting. He made a whip of cord. He and his
followers then drove the money changers out upsetting their trays even the oxen
and sheep. Those who sold doves he said to them, take these away from here
do not make my Father’s house a house for trading.
The Jews said to him what authority do you have to do these things and what
sign do you show us that you are have this authority? Jesus answered saying to
them tear down this Temple and in three days I will raise it up. The Jews said to
him, it took forty-six years to build this Synagogue and will you raise it up in three
days? He spoke concerning the Temple of his body. During the Passover, each
morning his followers gathered in a garden and Jesus would inter the temple and
teach and dismiss the 70 by two to every place he might go. In the evening, they
would meet on the Mount of Olives not far from the garden.
The 70 Returned
The seventy whom he had sent out each day returned with great joy and they
said to him, our Lord, even evil men have atoned and submitted to us in your
name. He said to them I saw the Adversary falling like lightning from heaven. I
give you authority to tread on deceivers, tricksters, and overcome the power of
the adversary. Nothing shall compromise your mission. Do not rejoice in this that
the unreal, impure and immature submit to you but rejoice because your names
are written in heaven. At that very hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said
I thank you O my Father; Lord of heaven and earth. You hide these things from
the Elders, Priest and scribes, men of understanding, and revealed them to my
followers. Yes, my Father it is well pleasing in your presence.
He turned to his apostils and said to them, everything has been entrusted to me
by my Father. No man knows who the Son is except the Father and no man
knows who is the Father except the Son and to whomever the Son wishes to
reveal him. Then he said to his 12 apostles and the 70 blessed are the eyes
which see what you see who hear what you have heard. I say to you that many
prophets, priest and kings desired to see what you see and did not see him. To
hear what you hear and did not hear him. Now while Jesus and his followers
taught the gospel in Jerusalem during the Passover Feast a great many believed
in him. They saw the miracles he and his followers performed.
Nicodemus
A man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus a leader of the Jews came to the
lodging place in Bethany. He was invited in and said to Jesus, teacher we know
that you are a teacher sent from God. No man can do these miracles that you are
doing unless God is with him. Jesus answered you are a teacher of Israel and yet
you do not understand these things? We speak only what we know and we testify
