4.2.3 Emergency Lighting
       Whilst a lighting layout is shown on the project
       drawings,  it  is  the  express  responsibility  of  the
       Principal Contractor to ensure that emergency
       lighting  design  is  undertaken  by  a  competent
       electrical contractor.


       •  The    emergency    lighting    must    be
          provided  by  adding  emergency  packs  in
          appropriate  positions  to  the  lights  already
          designed into the scheme plus the design of
          MOE exit lighting.
       •  The  emergency  lights  will  require  specific
          coordination  when  placing  the  lighting
          order.
       •  Flush mounting LED emergency light fittings
          should always be used in the Bake & Serve
          and Customer area’s.
       •  Drop  bulkhead  style  emergency  lighting  is
          not acceptable. All fittings to be flush.
       •  Supply  and  install  emergency  light  fittings
          using  concealed  cabling  and  wired  such
          that they operate in the event of local circuit
          failure.
       •  Integral  emergency  light  packs  can  be
          sourced for the ambient light fittings which
          must be used throughout the store. Surface
          mounted units are not acceptable.
       •  Internally  illuminated  fire  exit  signs  must  be
          supplied and installed as required.
       •  Emergency lighting test key switches shall be
          positioned adjacent to the lighting switches
          to simulate local circuit failure.
       •  Emergency lighting to be in accordance with
          BS5266: Part 1: 2016, Approved Document B
          6.36 and table 9, ICEL 1003 and CIBSE TM12.
