1) Written warning
2) Put on probation
3) Impose withdrawal of that course (grade “W”)
4) Fail the course (grade “F”)
3.3 The third type
In the event where other examination cheating is committed apart from what
specified above, or there is accusation after examination completion that cheating was committed in
specific examination, the Examination Disciplinary Committee shall take the matter and determine
punishment to the student who committed or attempted to commit cheating based on the severity as
defined above.
4. Procedures for Dealing with Examination Disciplinary Offence
4.1 The Teaching and Learning Unit under the Academic Affair Division shall hold
the meeting of Examination Disciplinary Committee for consideration on disciplinary penalty level
in the event where the student attempted or committed cheating on examination as specified in 3.1,
3.2, and 3.3.
4.2 The Teaching and Learning Unit shall coordinate with the Registration and
Evaluation Unit in recording academic result based on the resolution of the Examination
Disciplinary Committee.
4.3 Letters shall be issued to notify the student, his/her parents, lecturer or faculty in
charge of the course, student’s advisor, and Dean of student’s affiliated Faculty for
acknowledgement, and notify Student Disciplinary Unit, Student Affairs Division, to record the
student’s misconduct and consider additional penalty or take action as prescribed in the relevant
regulations.
5. In the event where the Examination Disciplinary Committee considers and deems that
the student commits no offence as accused, the lecturer or faculty in charge of the course shall
organize examination for the student or make other appropriate assessment. However, the
assessment result shall be completed within the time frame of academic calendar in that semester.
6. Other cases apart from the aforesaid shall be considered by the President.
7. This regulation shall effective from the first semester of Academic Year 2010 onwards.
