2-423 Do not place fuel in gasoline combustion engine-driven equipment
when the engine is running, and never allow another to do so. Also be
certain that no open flames, welding or sparking equipment are in use
near the internal gasoline combustion equipment being fueled.
2-424 Oxygen under pressure and hydrocarbons (oil and grease) can react
violently, resulting in explosions, fire, and injury to personnel and
damage to property. Never allow oil or grease to come into contact
with oxygen under pressure.
Other Fire Safety Procedures
2-425 Flammable liquids should never be used for cleaning parts.
2-426 Check all wiring, extension cords and plugs for wear and tear before
use. Report defects immediately.
2-427 Keep fuse/switch boxes clean, closed, and properly labeled.
2-428 Obey all "No Smoking" signs. Smoking is not permitted in offices,
buildings or outside near dry brush areas.
EVACUATIONS (2-500)
Emergency Preparedness
2-500 Be aware of all exits in your building.
2-501 Be aware of all fire extinguishers and other fire fighting equipment in
your area and be knowledgeable of their use.
2-502 Be knowledgeable of fire fighting procedures and fire prevention
safety practices.
Evacuation Procedures
2-503 Remain calm. Do not panic.
2-504 If in a multi-level building, use the nearest stairway for evacuation
purposes. Never use an elevator.
2-505 Walk - do not run - to your designated assembly area.
2-506 Assist injured persons as you evacuate.
2-507 Turn off all electrical lighting and equipment as you leave your area.
2-508 Be aware of your surroundings - avoid falling debris, glass, and/or any
electrical wiring.
