WELDING AND CUTTING SAFETY

                                (10-100)

10-100 Do not weld or cut unless you are properly trained.

10-101 Keep oxygen and acetylene bottles in a safe and clean area.
Keep caps on gas cylinders while in storage.

10-102 Separate oxygen cylinders in storage from acetylene (fuel-gas
cylinders or combustible materials – especially oil and grease) a
minimum distance of 20 feet or by a non-combustible barrier at
least five feet high, having a fire resistance rating of at least one
                                        half hour.

10-103 Secure all compressed gas cylinders in an upright (vertical)
                                        position.

10-104 Use welding screens as necessary to avoid injury and prevent
fire hazards to other employees in the area.

10-105 Keep fire extinguisher immediately accessible whenever
                                        conducting hot work.

10-106 Do not look at the welding arc or flash with the naked eye.
                                        Always use appropriate eye protection.
