The BIU failed or lost 1553B communications with the MC. The affected
components or indications will fail and/or change to a default state ENG/PROP
depending on the failure mode of the BAU.
FUEL
NOTE
Additional ACAWS may or may not display depending AAR
on the status of the system at the time of the failure.
SPEC A. ATCS switch.............................................................................. OFF ELEC
ATCS may not properly schedule engine horsepower.
HYD
NOTE
With a BIU # 2 failure, the ATCS should be turned OFF FLT CTRL
after reaching V MPR . P and CP PITOT HEAT FAIL (C)
ACAWS are not reported with a BIU #2 failure, resulting
in unknown pitot heat status. The air data is considered GEAR
invalid and an ATCS DEGRADED (C) ACAWS will be
displayed.
DOR/RMP
PERF B. Airspeed ........................................Maintain above approach speed
Stick pusher and sideslip warning systems failed. Stall warning JETTISON
degraded in high side slip angles.
C. Potential Mission Impacts..................................................... Review LANDING
Autopilot inoperative.
DITCHING
UHF 1 and 2 secure and HF 1 and 2 radios failed.
Copilot control wheel buttons functionality degraded. Only
ELEV TRIM and INTPH/RADIO buttons operational. Landing BAILOUT
gear aural alert can only be silenced by pilot control wheel hush
button.
