If it should become necessary to land on soft ground, the decision to land ENG/PROP
with landing gear extended or retracted must be made by the pilot.

1.16.7 LOSS OF NOSE WHEEL STEERING DURING AAR
LANDING
SPEC Whenever a loss of nose wheel steering is indicated by an immovable ELEC
steering wheel, no further attempts will be made to force the wheel
to turn, as this might prevent the wheel from castering. Perform the HYD
following:
A. Turn wheel...........................................................Do not force to turn

B. Nose wheel pressure.............................................................Reduce
Hold control column back. GEAR
C. Directional control.................................................................Maintain

CAUTION LANDING
With complete utility hydraulic system failure, do not use DITCHING
nose wheel steering on landing roll. Inadvertent use of
QRVH ZKHHO VWHHULQJ PD\ DOORZ K\GUDXOLF ÀXLG WR EH EOHG
from the shimmy damper and allow the wheel to shimmy BAILOUT
or turn from center.
