                         This is an indication of an unbalanced condition of one or both of the
                         nose wheel tires, or failure of the steering system.  Accomplish the
                         following based upon when the condition is recognized:                            ENG/PROP

                         Takeoff roll, prior to refusal speed:

                                  The decision to abort or continue will be based upon the
                                  severity of the shimmy.

                                  Keep the nose wheel off the ground as long as possible, but
                                  touch the nose down while the elevator effectiveness still                   HYD
                                  allows for a gentle lowering of the nose.
