PARENTS AND TEACHERS PARTNERSHIP IN EDUCATION

This study determined the level of parents and teachers partnership in education of the
public secondary schools in the municipality of Alcala, in the Division of Pangasinan II SY2014-
2015.
Specifically, Problem No. 1 focused on the profile of the teachers’ respondents namely:
age, sex, civil status, position, religious affiliation, length of service and monthly income. Problem
No. 2 dealt with the level of parents and teachers partnership in education along: financial
resources, material resources, manpower support services, extension services and programs
and projects. Problem No. 3 determined the significant differences in the teachers’ level of
partnership in education and the profile variables. Problem No. 4 focused on the significant
relationship between the teachers’ partnership in education and the selected teachers’ profile:
highest educational attainment, length of service and religious affiliation. The research
hypotheses were tested in its null form at .05 level of significance. There are no significant
differences in the teachers’ level of partnership in education and the profile variables. There
is no significant relationship between the teachers’ partnership in education and the selected
variables.
Further, the following were the findings of the study: 1) With regards to the profile
of the respondents, their age level ranged from 36 years and younger up to 36 years old and
above, majority are females, married, pursuing graduate studies and are Catholic, with less than
10 years below to more than 20 years in the teaching profession. Most of them are teachers,
and with a monthly family income ranging from Php5,001 to Php25,000 above; 2) Their level of
parents and teachers partnership in education is “moderately high” as indicated by the average
overall weighted mean of 3.11, with “manpower support services” having the highest overall
weighted mean of 3.26 and “material resources” having the lowest overall weighted mean of
2.95; 3) The null hypothesis of no significant difference in the level of teachers partnership in
education along the different concerns across their profile variables is accepted at .05 level of
significance except in the variable sex; 4) On the significant relationship between the teachers
partnership in education and the selected profile variables, there is no significant relationship
between the teachers’ partnership in education an the aforementioned variables.
The following conclusions are hereby presented: 1) The profile variables of the teacher
respondents is adequate enough to qualify them in the teaching profession; 2) The active
partnership of the respondents in education is good and remarkable enough as stepping stone
toward becoming very high in their partnership in education; 3) The respondents are comparable
in their level of partnership in education when compared between their profiles and areas of
concern except in the areas of sex which is not comparable. Sex has an effect in the level of
partnership among teacher as educational stakeholders.
In the light of the findings and conclusions, the following are the recommendations:
1) Regardless of profession or career, all parents are encouraged to be involved as participants
