it sought to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, civil status, highest
educational attainment, relevant trainings and the number of years as a kindergarten teacher.
Likewise, it looked into the different degree of seriousness of the behavioral problems
of kindergarten pupils encountered by teachers, the significant difference between the degree
of seriousness of the behavioral problems of kindergarten pupils encountered by teachers
across the profile variables and the significant relationship between the degree of seriousness
of the behavioral problems of the kindergarten pupils encountered by teachers and the profile
variables.
The descriptive-correlational method of research was employed and the questionnaire
checklist was used in gathering the data. The frequency counts (cf) percentage (%) the average
weighted means (AWM), the analysis and variance and the Pearson product moment of coefficient
correlation (r) were used for data analysis and interpretation.
The findings indicate that 1) majority of the respondent teachers belong to age bracket
20-30 years old that is 55.3 percent, female (38 or 94.7 percent) , single (24 or 63.2 percent)
highest educational attainment (22 or 57.9 percent) have 1-5 years teaching experience in the
kindergarten (23 or 60.5 percent)) and had attended division trainings (24 or 63.2 percent) 2)
the degree of seriousness of the behavioral problems of kindergarten pupils encountered by
teachers obtained an overall weighted mean of 2.97 an indicative of “Moderately Serious” 3) there
are no significant differences between the degree of behavioral problems of kindergarten pupils
encountered by teachers across profile variables and 4) there are no significant relationships
between the degree of the behavioral problems of the kindergarten pupils encountered by
teachers and the profile variables.
Based on findings of the study the following conclusions were formulated: 1) the
kindergarten teachers of Sison District are relatively young, female dominated equipped with
relevant educational qualifications and trainings 2) the moderately serious degree of the
behavioral problems of the kindergarten pupils calls for careful evaluation of the situation to avoid
possibility of escalating said behavioral problems 3) the behavioral problems of kindergarten
pupils do not differ significantly with respect to the profile variables of the respondents 4) the
behavioral problems of the kindergarten pupils are not related with the profile variables, in other
words they are vary.
The following recommendations are forwarded based on the salient findings and
conclusions: 1) all concerned teachers in the kindergarten should pursue their graduate and
post graduate studies for professional growth 2) the kindergarten teachers must upgrade
their teaching performance by attending relevant trainings 3) the kindergarten teachers should
find ways to address the behavioral problems of the kindergarten pupils by having constant
communication with the parents 4) constant supervision of the children with behavioral problems
should be done by the parents at home and the teachers in school.
