As to facilities, many of the students have study tables with 390 or 97.74 percent and good
illumination facilities with 294 or 73.68 percent of the students.
From the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn 1) the students-
respondents are predominantly females who lived in the rural areas spent less time in studying
Physics, whose parents have attained high school level of education, and who are non-
professionals with quite big family size. The students find Physics as difficult to comprehend.
2) Many of the teachers use inductive and Experimental methods in teaching, relatively young
in service and few have attended higher level training to make them updated on science
particularly in Physics. Teachers are overburdened with academic works due to the big number
of students handled and many teaching preparations. 3) Students do not have enough home
reading materials, conducive study rooms, and have few science equipments such as compass
and magnets. Students have high performance in the area of motion and low performance in the
area of Electricity. Generally, the students are average in their performance in Physics.
In the light of the findings, the researcher arrived at the following recommendation:
1) Teachers are encouraged to attend higher level of trainings in Science, particularly Physics to
update their professional competence 2) Teachers must encourage the students to avail of more
home reading materials especially science books, journals and magazines. 3) Teachers should
use other teaching methods such as analysis methods, activity method, investigation methods
instead of only the inductive and discovery method 4) Principals should request enough supply
of Physics books for Grade 8 students in the public secondary schools of Urdaneta City Division
5) The Proposed Enhancement Program in Physics can be adapted for the improvement of
students’ performance; and 6) Future researchers may use the findings and conclusions of this
study as data-base for a parallel study.
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION:
BASIS FOR POLICY FORMATION
LELAND D. AGUIRRE
This study determined the level of parental involvement in early education in the public
pre-schools of San Nicolas District, Pangasinan Division II, and S.Y. 2014-2015. Specifically, it
sought to determine the profile of the respondent parents in terms of age, number of children,
education of the father, education of the mother, monthly family income, sex and occupation.
Further, it looked into the level of parental involvement in early childhood education along
financial support, emotional support, intellectual support, social support and moral support,
the significance differences on the level of parental involvement in early childhood education
across the profile variables and the significant relationships between the level of the parental
involvement in early childhood education and their profile variables.
The descriptive research was used in this study to sought to describe the respondent
parents in terms of their profile variables as well as the respondents level of parental involvement
