➯ Falling Action: the action is still intense, but now it’s all about resolving the
conflict. There may be unexpected events, surprises, twists, and turns.
➯ Denouement or Resolution: the end of the story,
after the conflict has been resolved. Any lingering
questions are answered, and any loose ends are neatly
tied up. Everything makes sense!
✰ Conflict is the fuel that powers a story. It is the force that pushes the plot
forward.
➢ Internal Conflict: a character’s struggle with his own his beliefs, ideas,
mind, sense of right and wrong.
➢ External Conflict: a character’s struggle with someone or something
outside of himself: his family, friends, society, culture.
