           General Questions
           1. Why are you interested in the DOA opportunity with Vallejo Flood & Wastewater? Why are you
actively or passively looking for a new position?

It exactly fit my career path and what I want to do. I am currently DOA/Clerk for the City of Hercules. I
oversee IT, HR, and risk management. That's really where my passion is - I love the clerk duties, I enjoy
HR without a lot of training in that area. But I wouldn't say it is what I love most - I really enjoy the City
Clerk area. When I read through the traits for the ideal candidate it felt like that was me.

            Position Specific Questions

           2. Please describe your highest level administrative support role to an Executive, Director, General
             Manager and/or Board.

I did the same type of work on a smaller scale for Waterford. But for the City of Hercules, I oversee all
of the City Clerk functions, in addition to that I oversee HR, IT, and Risk Management. I am not doing
the day to day but I oversee those functions. I work very closely with the City Manager and assist them
with day to day activities as well. I have 19 years experience doing director of administrative servies
             and clerk duties.

           3. Please describe your supervisory experience and the most challenging human resources issue you
             have addressed.

I love managing staff, mentoring and coaching employees, and setting a good work ethic. HR issue, I
just finished up a challenging HR issue today. I had to terminate someone as the result of a sexual
harassment complaint from one of the employees. I would say this was a really sensitive and
complicated subject matter that I was able to finalize and navigate.

Overseeing - I have six people who report to me - systems administrators, one in HR, a Sr. Clerk. Two
             part time admin secretaries.

           4. Please describe your experience in coordinating, tracking and reporting out on the implementation
of organizational goals, objectives, policies and procedures.

We track and monitor a number of documents to stay on top of the filing requirements. The
established goals of the City and projects are tracked each year. We let the City council know about all
