General Questions
1. Why are you interested in the DOA opportunity with Vallejo Flood & Wastewater? Why are you
actively or passively looking for a new position?
I was born and raised in Vallejo. Started my career in public services with City and County of SF. I knew
that eventually I wanted to make my way back to Vallejo in a professional capacity. I saw that this
position aligns with what I currently do with the SF Planning Commission Department. I support two
commissions - the planning and historic preservation commissions. This position is similar in that it
supports a Board of Trustees. I do a lot around record retention and I saw that this position is
responsible for the record keeping of the District.
For me, it's mostly the Vallejo part. I have been with the City and County of SF for almost 12 years,
and I'm at a point in my career where I'm ready to explore a different opportunity. It's great, I love
working for SF. I would be curious about this opportunity in Vallejo.

2. Please describe your highest level administrative support role to an Executive, Director, General
Manager and/or Board.
Currently am manager of commission affairs, provide high level support to two commissions and act
as a secretary. The planning commission meets weekly, and the historic commission meets every

meeting runs about 6 hours. We prepare all of the documents needed for those hearings. We prepare
documents and ensure that the meetings run smoothly. I help the Director of District Affairs to store
documents. With the historic commission we receive a very high volume of public records request.
That requires a pretty strong process - we make sure we meet them when requested.
The Planning Commission oversees development and land use projects in the City.
3. Please describe your supervisory experience and the most challenging human resources issue you
have addressed.
As manager of commission affairs, for the last five years, I have managed a team of clerks both
contract and permanent, and a couple of interns. I have two permanent clerks that I oversee and one
to two contract clerks. The two permanent clerks oversee all of the commission work that we do. My
direct reports, I have one to two contract clerks which help on the scanning project that I oversee. We
started the record digitization project - whose goals was to digitize all of the records retention both
