          General Questions
          1. Why are you interested in the DOA opportunity with Vallejo Flood & Wastewater?  Why are you
            actively or passively looking for a new position?


            I would say that I am sort of passively looking, I’m not really actively looking. I decided to apply for the
            position because I feel that all of my work experience has centered around administration or being
            clerk. When I saw the posting, it really jumped at me so I decided to take the opportunity to apply.
            Where I am employed it is a pretty small organization. This would be a great career growth
            opportunity to grow in my career and personally.
          Position Specific Questions

          2. Please describe your highest level administrative support role to an Executive, Director, General
            Manager and/or Board.

            With City of Walnut Creek I provided support to the City Manager. Here I support the General Manager
            of Castro Valley Sanitary District. My job entails human resources, IT Support, public outreach, as well
            as administrative support. I help the GM in all of those areas. Because I do oversee the department I
            ensure that the support we do provide is as good as or to the best of our abilities in terms of what our
            department can provide.



          3. Please describe your supervisory experience and the most challenging human resources issue you
            have addressed.


            Currently supervises 7 with Castro Valley. I have a wide range of supervisory levels. The most
            challenging HR issues - anytime you work with people there can be quite a few issues. I think I have
            been fortunate that I haven't had anything too egregious. I will say one of the employees came up to
            me and mentioned that a general managers comment about her appearance made her feel
            uncomfortable. My advice to her was that if she wanted to pursue an investigation we can do that.




          4. Please describe your experience in coordinating, tracking and reporting out on the implementation
            of organizational goals, objectives, policies and procedures.


            Castro Valley Sanitary District has a strategic plan. We have what we call developmental performance
            index. DPIs. Every department develops their own DPIs every year. Apart from that we also have a
            workshop for all of the executive team to make sure we are checking in on all goals and objectives. The
            DPIs are presented to the Board of Directors so they can see how well we are doing. The DPIs include
            goals and objectives within the specified plan. We also develop a working plan to make sure we have a
