Director of Administration, San Francisco Planning Department: Oversee all administrative functions for the
Planning Department, including budgeting, accounting, human resources, payroll, information technology, training
and organizational development, contracts and operations. Oversee the budget and administration of the
Department’s $51 million budget and 240 employees. Represent the Department to the Mayor’s Office, Board of
Supervisors, Historic Preservation Commission, Planning Commission and other City agencies. Currently oversee
the implementation of a new permit and project tracking system, a joint project between Planning and the
Department of Building Inspection. Directly Supervisor a Finance and IT Manager, a Human Resources Manager,
a Training and Organizational Development Manager, an IT Project Director, a Systems Business Lead and an
Operations Manager.
Budget and Revenue Manager, Controller’s Office: Supervised staff in the development and administration of
the City’s annual budget totaling $6.5 billion and more than 27,000 positions. Developed budgeting methods,
procedures and controls. Prepared, interpreted and implemented City budget instructions. Directed the drafting of
legislation to enact annual and supplemental budget appropriation ordinances and other fiscal legislation.
Represented the Controller at Board of Supervisors and Finance Committee meetings, as well as interpreted and
explained City fiscal policies to Board Members and Department managers. Balanced each phase of the budget and
advised the Division Director, Deputy Controller and Controller on citywide budget issues. Managed all inputs to
the City’s budgeting system. Prepared fiscal analyses and budgetary reports including monthly budgetary variance
reports, quarterly financial reports, three-year projections reports and fiscal-year ending reporting. Managed the
daily operations of the Controller’s Budget Office, including staff development, performance and evaluations.
City of Oakland
Administrative Manager II: Oversaw all administrative areas for Parking and Traffic Operations for the City of
Oakland, including budgeting, accounting, human resources, contracts and purchasing. Prepared and presented
City Council items related to parking and traffic for the City Council. Represented the department to the City
Administrator's Office, the Mayor's Office and State agencies. Supervised Accounting Manager, Customer Service
Center Manager, Revenue Analyst and administrative support staff.
