    REFERENCE ASSESSMENTS: SETTING EMPLOYEES UP FOR SUCCESS


      Reference assessments are a crucial element of the RN screening and hiring process at UM-
      Health. Using a web-based, structured assessment tool facilitated by Symplr, the NRR team
      gathers objective and relevant feedback on external RN candidates as part of a mandatory step
      in the selection process. This feedback offers valuable insights into a candidate’s
      communication skills, professional relationships, and job competencies, enabling managers to
      focus on hiring the best person for each role.

       By providing a consistent, structured approach to evaluating professional references, NRR
      supports better hiring decisions, reduces turnover, and ultimately contributes to the delivery of
      safe, high-quality care.
