5/TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Symptom Test Procedure Repair/Replace
Any electronic problem Verify proper power supply operation FIRST
or dead panel before troubleshooting electronics: Check DC
supply voltages at J2 (5 VDC ± .2 and 12
VDC ± .5) See Figure 14.
If voltage is OK - Continue troubleshooting.
If voltage supply is not OK, disconnect J2
and repeat voltage measurement.
If supply voltage measurement is OK, check If connections are correct, replace
that power cables are properly connected: Control Display (C/D) board.
P/S J2-2 to C/D J10-2 If connections are not
P/S J2-3 to C/D J10-3 correct, change to proper
P/S J2-4 to C/D J10-4 connections.
If supply voltage measurement is not OK after dis-
connect, check AC transformer output: 15 ± 2 VAC.
If output is OK - Power Supply (P/S) boards.
If output is not OK, check 120 VAC supply
(104-127 VAC).
Supply OK - Transformer.
Supply not OK - No AC power.
Visual indicators OK, Confirm power supply operation. See above.
no audio on test
Jump black alarm lead to chassis ground.
If alarm sounds - Check for stuck silence switch.
Check connections at P/S J3
and from P/S J2-1 to C/D J10-1.
Replace C/D board.
If no alarm sounds - Check for short across alarm leads.
Check audio alarm wiring.
Replace C/D board.
Replace audio unit.
Normal or Abnormal Substitute with known good LED indicator.
Indicator not functioning
on test If OK- LED indicator.
If not OK - Replace C/D board.
Continuous Audio Alarm Unplug J10 at C/D board.
If silent - Check wiring from P/S board to
C/D board.
Replace C/D board.
If continuous audio, unplug J2 at P/S board.
If silent - Check wiring for short to ground.
If continuous audio - P/S board.
