In group discussion, make sure you have these of following:

Content: Combination of knowledge and ability to perform a concise discussion and create logical
arguments on the basis of that knowledge

Communication Skills: - Your ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, build on others’
points, sum up the discussion made by the entire group

Group Dynamics: - Participants’ willingness to listen and discuss various points, ability to
appreciate good points made by others, ability to disagree politely and summarize. When there
are varieties, people will have both agreement and disagreement. How can you deal with that
situation politely?

Leadership: How you can make the discussion and decision and allow others to express their
views and channels

Preparing For Group Discussion
Some people say “I cannot do it.”, “I don’t have enough time”, “I couldn’t start”, “Somebody

is talking a lot”,“Nobody let me speak at all” or “Someone got sarcastic (saying something that’s
not what it means in a negative way)”. Therefore, ask if you don’t understand the topic and talk.

1. Content

● Develop subject knowledge on current affairs, general awareness and business trends that
you can be on top
● Structure arguments (for and against) on selected topics, considering both sides to the
argument
● Plan for the short and crisp (very short and direct) points

2. Display Behavioral Traits

● Leadership trait by showing direction to group whenever group moves away from the
topic, coordinate the effort of participants
