Parkside Football Club 1897/2017

Spotswood downed Parkside by 56 points in the upset of round 16 of the FDFL forcing Parkside from
third to fourth spot on the ladder.

"Spotswood won the Sunday game by 56 points in an upset result to keep the vital fifth place.

The Woodsmen are only in the five by two points, but in this topsy-turvy season anything could
               happen.

The defeat has caused problems in the Parkside camp, now two points behind Port Colts - and the
               double chance.

Best for Spotswood: Tobin, Mayberry, Cook, Frdelja, Martin. Parkside: Ali Taleb, Tzatzaris and
               Karcouskas.”

               Spotswood 15.26 (116) d Parkside 8.12 (60)

Showing they are well on the way to back-to-back premierships, Parkside creamed Hoppers Crossing
               by 119 points.

The win put the Magpies in a double chance position for the finals — Port Colts meet Hoppers in the
last game and there has to be a loser, whose place the Magpies will swoop into.

But that is providing the Magpies can overcome a very tough Deer Park — no easy matter given the
               Lions' performance against Yarraville.

Best for Parkside were: Ali Taleb, Cammerino (five goals), Kotoski, Salopek and Cuzzupe.

               Parkside 23.22 (160) d Hoppers Crossing 5.11 (41)

“Struggling teams had to battle gale force winds as well as their opponents in the final home and
away round of the Footscray District Foot¬ball League (FDFL) com¬petition, with finals places and
relegation in the bal¬ance for some clubs.

Yarraville finished on top of the ladder, with Port Colts second, after a good win over Hoppers
               Crossing.

Parkside hold third spot after beating Deer Park and replacing Hoppers Crossing for the double
               chance.

In the main game at Yarraville Oval on Saturday, Port Colts play Parkside in the qualifying final. At the
other end of the ladder, Seddon-Yarraville Club faces relegation, despite winning their last two
               games of the season.

               Parkside 11.12 (78) d Deer Park 9.8 (62)
