Page 66 - Producing a Video to Communicate a New Model of Coaching to GAA Coaches
P. 66
The video shoot was held in Croke Park on the morning of December 14th, 2016. I
performed the role of Producer, Director and Interviewer with the Ballywire crew of
Paul Collins (Consultant Producer), Tom Comerford (lead cameraman) and Carl
O’Donovan (second cameraman) (Photo 4.6).
Photo 4.6. Working Together
On completion of the shoot I had a real sense of satisfaction, as did Paul Collins. The
following journal extract gives an insight into that feeling:
I got a great buzz from the experience and felt afterwards that we had captured
10’
something that would really make a mark on communicating not only the ‘Coach
model but also the uniqueness of the GAA and what it means. Paul mentioned this
afterwards and felt that we could edit what was captured in many ways for many
audiences, both experienced and new to the GAA.

4.4.8 Leading from Beside
The next step involved further collaboration as I sat with the editor in the Ballywire
Offices and oversaw the edit of the video (Photo 4.7 and Photo 4.8).
