and their opinions on the overall impact of the ‘Parent Learning Zone’ and

                        recommendations going forward.

                        Think-Aloud Protocol
My work colleagues and college peers were my main collaborators and evaluators

during the production of the videos for the multimedia resource I implemented.

During the think-aloud sessions, I asked the test-subjects to navigate through the
‘Parent Learning Zone’ and listen to the demonstration reading videos. I asked for

their honest feedback, focusing on the overall design and layout, ease of use of the
resource, the clarity and impact of the reading videos and what they found useful and

what they would change. For the evaluations where I was physically present, I

provided the participants with paper to write down notes as they navigated through
the resource. For the evaluations where I was not physically present, the participants

emailed me their feedback. This process provided an alternative perspective allowing
me to hone in on any changes that needed to be made. Being open to collaborative

work and requesting my colleagues test the usability of my multimedia resource
using the think-aloud practices, gave me an insight into their cognitive processes and

made their thoughts and feelings about the design and user experience as explicit as

possible. I aimed to stay true to my values and objectives while taking into
consideration their advice and suggestions, always with the goal of creating the best

possible version of my multimedia resource for the parents and pupils of our school.

                        Personal Reflective Journals

Throughout my time on the MEME programme, I maintained a reflective
journal, documenting and recording my thoughts, learnings and creative

development throughout the action research study. I recorded insights of my
workplace environment and culture as well as my own personal perceptions and

                        educational values.

                        Questionnaires

I emailed the parents of our school a link to my online questionnaire, I also
embedded a link to the questionnaire in the ‘Parent Learning Zone’ website. The

questionnaire gathered information on the thoughts and opinions of the parents with
regards to the demonstrative reading videos, daily homework, reading routines as
