Onboarding Toolkit
New Hire Checklist
Pre-Boarding:
Complete and submit all new hire forms available through the portal link you receive in your personal
and work email accounts
Review supplemental materials provided to you through the portal referenced above
Prepare to attend New Employee Orientation – be sure you know where you’re going, what date and
time, what to wear, etc.; if you have any questions, reach out to your recruiter or hiring manager
First Day:
Attend New Employee Orientation
Meet your Manager
First Week:
Get your Piedmont network User ID and Password from your manager so that you have access to
your email, the Piedmont Village (our employee Intranet site) and applications, including PeopleSoft
Employee Self Service (ESS)
Promptly complete and submit any additional new hire forms through the portal link you receive in
both your work and personal email accounts
Review PeopleSoft Employee Self Service (ESS) functionality – go to
https://selfservice.piedmont.org and log in using your Piedmont network User ID and Password
Go to PeopleSoft ESS, review your home address, phone number and other personal information to
ensure accuracy, and enter your direct deposit information, tax preferences and emergency contacts
Attend New Leader Orientation (for managers and above)
Meet your assigned buddy, if applicable
Review the Village intranet site, including the @YourService section, which features all things
related to self-service (how you contact the HR Service Center, IS Service Center, electronic
requests, etc.)
Complete Piedmont Regulatory Orientation (PRO) worksheets with manager. The PRO and
attestation in Piedmont University must be complete prior to employee working
independently
Meet with your Piedmont Benefits Counselor to learn about your benefit plans/options so you can
enroll within your first 30 days
Review your Piedmont University E-Learning training modules to be completed within 30 days of
your start date
First Month:
Participate in regular check-in sessions with your hiring manager to ensure onboarding success
Complete all online training modules in Piedmont University E-Learning within 30 days
Update your profile on the Village intranet site
Enroll in Piedmont benefits within 30 days of your start date
Complete the New Hire Survey assigned to you in Piedmont University e-Learning
After 90 Days:
Review your manager’s 90-day evaluation of your performance and demonstration of Piedmont’s
Values, and complete the required employee acknowledgement
