Buddy Checklist
Pre-Board:
Prepare welcome packet to include department telephone directory
Send welcome note card/email signed by peers/department
First Week:
Have breakfast or lunch with new employee
Teach the Piedmont “lingo” (Alphabet Soup Acronym Library)
Act as liaison for the new hire
Tour of the department area/building - review parking, short cuts, conference rooms, Human
Resources, Executive Suites, etc.
Tour of Village – “good to know” (i.e., @YourService, Application Launcher, Benefits/Human
Resources, etc.)
Encourage download of Piedmont Now App
First Month:
Assist with online learning modules in Piedmont University E-Learning
Help navigate through PeopleSoft Employee Self Service (ESS) - mileage, expense reports
Review how to request time off
Remind employee to complete New Hire Survey after completing their first 30 days
