            Buddy Checklist




            Pre-Board:
                 Prepare welcome packet to include department telephone directory
                 Send welcome note card/email signed by peers/department


            First Week:
                 Have breakfast or lunch with new employee
                 Teach the Piedmont “lingo” (Alphabet Soup Acronym Library)
                 Act as liaison for the new hire
                 Tour of the department area/building - review parking, short cuts, conference rooms, Human
                   Resources, Executive Suites, etc.
                 Tour of Village – “good to know” (i.e., @YourService, Application Launcher, Benefits/Human
                   Resources, etc.)
                 Encourage download of Piedmont Now App


            First Month:
                 Assist with online learning modules in Piedmont University E-Learning
                 Help navigate through PeopleSoft Employee Self Service (ESS) - mileage, expense reports
                 Review how to request time off
                 Remind employee to complete New Hire Survey after completing their first 30 days
