(b) PERFORM TEN SIT-UPS; SIX PUSH-UPS AND A RUNNING BROAD JUMP OF
AT LEAST ONE AND A HALF TIMES YOUR HEIGHT.
Have another Cub hold onto your feet and do the Sit-ups slowly. With the
Push-ups, if you are having any difficulty, try with hands and knees and practice until
you are able to try hands and toes. Like the Sit-ups, don't rush, take your time.
With the broad jump use an area of soft ground with no holes or obstructions.
If your school has a sand pit for jumping, use it.
(c) GIVE A DEMONSTRATION OF A GAME REQUIRING A DISPLAY OF AGILITY
AND PHYSICAL FITNESS.
Choose your game and practice so that when you make your demonstration
you will do it correctly.
You could try for the Athlete 3, Sportsman or Swimmer 3 Proficiency Badge.

3. ROPE WORK
DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING KNOTS AND KNOW THEIR USES:
(a) A ROUND TURN AND TWO HALF HITCHES AND
(b) A CLOVE HITCH.
A knot for tying a rope to a post, spar or ring, is
called a Hitch.
(a) A Round Turn and Two Half Hitches is used
for a rope under a strain. It can be used to tie the guy
lines to the ring on the tent and can be used to tie
animals to a post or a boat to a mooring post.
( b ) A Clove Hitch can also be used to
tie a rope to a pole. The Scouts use it to
start and finish the square lashing. It
can also be used to tie the halyard to the
toggle at the top of a flag.
