CARIBBEAN COUNTRY.
(i) The National Anthem was composed by Timothy Gibson as part of a
national competition and was adopted in July 1973.
Lift up your head to the rising sun, Bahamaland; Lift up your head to the rising sun, Bahamaland,
March on to glory, your bright banners waving high. 'Til the road you've trod lead unto your God,
See how the world marks the manner of your bearing!
Pledge to excel through love and unity. MARCH ON, BAHAMALAND!
Pressing onward, march together
to a common loftier goal;
Steady sunward, tho' the weather
hide the wide and treacherous shoal.
(ii) Ask Akela to invite someone to teach the Pack the tunes to these
National Anthems or anyone in the community who is from another country to teach
the words and music of their National Anthem.
