                           Find out the design and colours of the flag of any of our neighbors in the
                     Caribbean from your Geography Teacher or your school or Public library.

                     (d) KNOW THE NATIONAL ANTHEM OF THE BAHAMAS AND OTHER
                     CARIBBEAN COUNTRY.

                            (i) The National Anthem was composed by Timothy Gibson as part of a
                     national competition and was adopted in July 1973.
                            Lift up your head to the rising sun, Bahamaland;  Lift up your head to the rising sun, Bahamaland,
                            March on to glory, your bright banners waving high.  'Til the road you've trod lead unto your God,
                            See how the world marks the manner of your bearing!
                            Pledge to excel through love and unity.  MARCH ON, BAHAMALAND!
                            Pressing onward, march together
                            to a common loftier goal;
                            Steady sunward, tho' the weather
                            hide the wide and treacherous shoal.

                            (ii) Ask Akela to invite someone to teach the Pack the tunes to these
                     National Anthems or anyone in the community who is from another country to teach
                     the words and music of their National Anthem.

                     5. SAFETY

                     As a Cub Scout you should know about basic safety measures.
                     (a) KNOW THE WATER RULES OF SAFE SWIMMING AND RESUCE
                     PROCEDURE IN THE BAHAMAS
                           There are no official water rules of safe swimming in The Bahamas, the
                     following are some unwritten rules:
                           1. Don't go swimming alone, if you get into difficulties there is no one to
                     help you.
