                           AN UNUSUAL PALE GREYISH-WHITE AND DARK GREY JADE
                            ‘BUDDHIST LION’ PLAQUE
                           MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
                           Possibly a weight, the rectangular plaque is well carved in openwork with two Buddhist
                           lions playing with a ribbon-tied brocade ball, the ends of the ribbon trailing off into
                           openwork scrolls above the head of the lion carved from the dark grey area of the stone.
                           The plain reverse is as smoothly polished as the front.
