               KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PUT TO TEST AT DGPS INTERSCHOOL COMPETITION

                                DGPS hosted its very first interschool quiz competition on 21  January, 2020. The
                                                                                                    st
                                event, initiated and organized by the students of Year 13, was a grand success.
                                Students from Pristine Private School, Dubai International Academy, The Millennium
                                School, and GEMS Winchester School participated in the event, showcasing their vast
                                knowledge of the topics in History, Literature, Science and Technology, and Sports.
                                The competition included two preliminary written rounds, followed by a final debating
                                memory test and rapid-fire round. The contestants were judged by Mrs. Annie Wilfred,
                                Mrs. Bina Ajgaonkar and Mrs. Shahana Raza.
                               After an intense couple of hours, Shreya Kamath and Shyam Soundararajan (Yr 10)
                               representing DGPS secured the first place, followed by DIA in both the second and third places. DIA also won the
                               ‘Best Debating Team’ award.
                               Dubai Gem is proud of its students and looks forward to hosting more such inter-school competitions in the coming years!

                                                                            VALUABLE LESSONS LEARNED AT THE CLEAN-UP CAMPAIGN

        On Thursday 14  November, the primary school Eco-Warriors and girls of Year 11 took part in the Dubai Municipality’s Beat Plastic Pollution

        Campaign 2019.
        Students from different schools came together to help reduce pollution by clearing the litter. The event taught students valuable lessons on the
        effects of pollution and environmental degradation. Students returned from the campaign with an an increased sense of shared social responsibility.
