Barr & Barr utilizes Prolog Manager construction management software on all of our
projects. All the fi nancial and cost reporting information is maintained within a secure
environment accessed only by select project team members who have been assigned
a secure username and password. Th e Prolog reports are set up to align the budget
codes with the GMP estimate and bid packages to show the process of managing the
project costs with the budgets established in the GMP.
We understand that the budget is a critical element for your project. Th is cost and
budget reports are included in each monthly report and will be updated regularly to
be discussed at the Project Meetings. Our teams focus is to protect the Project GMP
budgets and contingency to be an eff ective construction partner to your team.
7. Site Logistics Plan
Barr & Barr’s main focus on every project within an active academic campus is to
isolate construction and minimize the impact to student, faculty, staff , visitors and
campus operations. Th is along with our in-depth knowledge of Roosevelt Island and
the Cornell Tech Campus, creates an eff ective streamlined process that benefi ts in
effi ciency and productivity while maintaining a safe environment.
Given the location of the VEEC on campus logistical planning is paramount. Following
this section is our preliminary project logistic plans that showcase how we provide
logistical strategy layouts to the owner for review and comment. Th e impacts we impose
on the campus must be reviewed with Cornell Tech project management prior to any
construction commencing.
Site Boundary and Fencing
Barr & Barr participated in a DOB BEST Squad – Major Project Kickoff Meeting
5/11/207 to present the Site Logistics for the VEEC with particular focus given to the
immediate adjacency of the Graduate Hotel Project and their simultaneous schedules.
Topics discussed:
1) Access Agreements
a. Mutual access agreements is a must for the success of both projects.
b. Access agreements should contain language that each project shall allow
the other good faith access to provide protection required by chapter 33
building code.
c. Th e access agreements shall be made between the property owners.
d. Without access agreements in place the project causing the risk to the other
must get a court order to protect, initiated by a 60-0day, 45-day and 30-day
notice to the property owner of the property requiring protection.
e. Access Agreements should extend to the CUP building and the Tech Wall.
