38. Estimation of Citric Acid Assay

SCOPE PROCEDURE
To estimate the assay of Citric acid. 1. Take 1gm of Citric acid sample in 250ml of conical
flask.
APPARATUS
2. Add100 ml of distilled water.
FAnalytical Balance, 1 mg / 0.1 mg accuracy
3. Titrate with 1M sodium hydroxide using
FConical flask, 250 ml
phenolphthalein indicator until solution becomes
FBurette, 10 ml pink colour.
4. Run the blank without taking sample.
REAGENTS
F1M Sodium Hydroxide: Dissolve approximate 0.4g Note: Each 1 ml of 1M NaoH is equivalent to 0.06403g
of Sodium hydroxide in 100ml distilled water. of Citric acid.

FPhenolphthalein indicator
