36. Estimation of Potassium Chloride Assay
SCOPE PROCEDURE
To estimate the assay of Potassium chloride. 1. Take 0.2gm of Potassium chloride sample in 250ml
of conical flask.
APPARATUS
2. Add100 ml of distilled water + 3ml of Potassium
FAnalytical Balance, 1 mg / 0.1 mg accuracy
Chromate.
FConical flask, 250 ml
3. Titrate with 0.1N silver nitrate until solution
FBurette, 10 ml becomes brown colour.
FGraduated pipette, 10 ml, 5 ml 4. Run the blank without taking sample.
Note: Each 1 ml of 0.1N AgNo3 is equivalent to
REAGENTS
74.55mg of potassium chloride.
F0.1N Silver nitrate: Dissolve approximate 1.699g
of silver nitrate, AR grade in distilled water and
made up to 100 ml
F5% Potassium chromate.
