SHOTCRETE
Our shotcrete crew will pump in the concrete (like a firehose) to form
the shell of the pool. This is a messy process and will need 48 hours to
cure*. Thunderbird Pools will provide a sprinkler/timer** to aid with
the curing process, (it will not run constantly) a superintendent from
Thunderbird Pools will meet the crew to set up the sprinkler and
check your job; they will pick up your shotcrete payment at this time
(unless payment arrangements have been made with the office)
*There will be a “kiddy pool” used to clean the shotcrete pump left on site and picked
up at final clean up. This is a standard in the industry and a part of the shotcrete
process.
**If the sprinkler fails IT IS NOT AN EMERGENCY, please spray the concrete down
with a hose if possible. If the pool shell (concrete) gets no water it is not a problem, we
are trying to slow down the curing process for maximum strength but it is not a
requirement.
