EXCAVATION FAQ’S
Why is there an extra charge for hard digs or dump fees?
There is no way to know what is under the surface until we
uncover it (Caliche, White/Brown, Granite, Rock), these soils are
hard on the equipment and could require a jackhammer or
ripper which could add extra days to excavation. If soil is loose
but rocky, there may be dump fees added to export unusable dirt
to the correct dump location.
What if I don’t accept the hard dig price?
If you do not accept the original hard dig price we will get two
more bids from other excavators and you are free to choose
which bid to accept, there are pull off fees if you choose to go
with another bid other than the original excavator.
What if I want to keep the dirt from excavation?
If you would like to keep the dirt from excavation, we will need
to know the exact amount of dirt you would like left on site,
preferably measured in tons. This will also require a sign off
once the dirt is left. It will only be removed for an additional fee.
In Maricopa County a drainage inspection is performed and will
not pass if the grading is altered.
